Sometimes gaping mortar joints or even hairline cracks are responsible for apparent roof leaks. While some chimneys can have the joints ground out and repointed, this shimney will require removing the top 6 or 7 courses and relaid in fresh mortar.

Falling brick and stone from chimneys (badly in need of repointing) can cause serious roof damage. This chimney is laying almost totally lose and will require total removal and rebuilding due to the lack of structural integrity.
