you have any type of service work completed at your home you are
gambling with who will be coming to your home. Cases like the
Elizabeth Smart case in Boulder Colorado who was abducted by a
workman completing renovation work in the families home are becoming
more common and we all need to take extensive measures to know who
we are allowing access around your home and your family. We
are a family owned and operated business and have young children of
our own. Each potential team member that we hire we thoroughly
check their background and references. We do not hire any one
we do not trust working with and around our loved ones. The
following outlines some of the policies we utilize to insure your
family's safety and your peace of mind.
Criminal Background Checks- are completed on each potential
team member prior to being employed with Leelands. Our churches,
schools and residential customers have the peace of mind that
any team member who works on their home is of the highest caliber,
and will not be a threat or concern to security and safety.
Random drug testing – we are a
drug free work place and do random drug testing free for their protection as well as our
customers. This added cost to our company is beneficial in
several ways.
1) Minimizes accidents and falls
on a job that requires "clear thinking" and many times "quick
reactions".
2) Discourages our team members
from even considering experimenting with substances that are
addictive and potentially destructive to themselves and their
families.
3) It helps to insure that our
customers receive quality workmanship on every job we perform.
Zero Tolerance drug, alcohol &
smoking policy - We have a zero tolerance policy at Leelands
Slate Roofing. This means that if a team member violates our
non smoking policy or tests positive for alcohol or drugs during
working hours they will be terminated immediately.
Non Smoking workplace- No team
member is permitted to smoke during working hours or on any project.
The reason is clear to those of us in the industry.
1) One discarded cigarette or
ash which accidentally falls into a roof gutter can cause a major
fire.
2) Cigarette "butts" thrown on
the ground or dropped into a manicured garden is disrespectful to
our customers and that is not acceptable behavior.
In house Training school - We
realized that it is more productive to hire individuals who have
character and integrity and teach them the slate roofing business
than to hire someone with "Roofing Experience" and try to teach them
character and integrity. Our school includes full size mock
ups that allow us to train our new team members for the first time
on a mock up not on your roof. We have developed a written
curriculum with written tests to insure that team members have a
thorough understanding of all aspects of the trade.
24 Hour 7 days a week Emergency
Service – We are available 24 hours a day – seven days a week if
you have an emergency. If you should have an emergency after business
hours, you simply call our office and the announcement will instruct
you to press 9 if you have an emergency. Once a crew is
dispatched you will receive a follow up phone call letting you know
that they are on the way. Your peace of mind is our greatest
concern.
Every Phone call answered –
Answering your phone call is of the highest priority to us at
Leelands Slate Roofing. Our telephone system in our office is set up
to ring two times at our receptionist and scheduling coordinator's
desk, Amanda Deckard's; on the third ring, all lines in the entire
office ring. If all lines are busy, your call is forwarded to our
live answering service and they will fax a message immediately for
you to receive a return call. Rarely does our answering service have
to catch a call that we miss.
